Life Under the Sun

What may come
of this tantalizing life?
Its melody ringing with sorrow
that I bear witness to. Life
under the sun demands far too much
of me. My dwelling a façade,
futile and fleeting.
Vanity of vanities. All is vanity.
My once guileless being riddled
now with shadows.
I will live in obscurity, for I am known by my creator
before the silver cord is loosed.
